Firefighter-Full Time
Putnam County is seeking a motivated, dedicated team member for the Full-time position of Firefighter.
This position protects lives and property through suppression activities and public education. Firefighters may perform rescue, emergency medical care and respond to hazardous material incidents. The successful applicant will have the ability to satisfactorily complete rigorous training programs to comply with the requirements of the Georgia Firefighter’s Standards and Training Act.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma, or GED equivalent, and a valid Georgia driver’s license. Applicant must also submit along with the completed application a signed MVR consent form for a driver’s history report. Must pass criminal history review. Requirements also include MAR (medical aid responder training) within the first year next to the NPQ FF1 requirement. Applicants must be in excellent physical condition; be able to pass all pre-employment tests; be of good moral character and have no felony convictions for the past 10 years.
The position requires a work schedule of 24 hours on duty followed by 48 hours off duty typically, part-time hours may vary. Applicants must be able to meet requirements for NPQ Firefighter 1 certification. Compensation will be based on qualifications and the current county pay scale.
