Putnam General Hospital announces COVID-19 vaccine plan for Phase 1a+

Due to very limited supply, appointments will be required by calling the Putnam General Hospital Vaccine Hotline 706-923-2052

On Friday , January 15, 2021, Putnam General Hospital officials released their plan for the community Phase 1a+ Moderna COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Phase 1a+ includes all of the medical community as well as those 65 and older.

Officials with the hospital said they are finalizing plans for a community vaccination site which will be held at the Lake Country Medical Office located on the hospital grounds. Vaccines will begin being distributed on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. PGH has worked tirelessly to vaccinate employees and those in the medical community. Now that they have obtained additional vaccine, they would like to immunize as many in the community that fall under Phase 1a and 1a+ as soon as possible.

“We are beginning to roll out our community Moderna COVID-19 vaccination program,” Pam Douglas, CNO, of Putnam General Hospital, said. “We will be vaccinating those in Phase 1a and 1a+" Those interested in receiving the vaccine must call the Putnam General Hospital Vaccine Hotline 706-923-2052. Putnam General Hospital will begin taking calls to set up appointments starting on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 9:00 am. The hours to call to schedule the appointment is as follows; Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm-5:00 pm.

This will not be a drive-thru site like other areas in Georgia. The vaccine will be distributed on site, by appointment only, and at no cost. Consent forms can be completed on-site but it is preferred they be completed before arrival. Consent forms can be found on the Putnam General Hospital website (www.putnamgeneral.com).

On the day of your appointment, please park at the Lake Country Office (which is to the right of the hospital) remain in your car until your scheduled appointment. Our focus is always the health and wellbeing of our community and staff; therefore, do not come until your designated time.
"We cannot stress enough that Putnam General Hospital has a very limited supply: we are unable to accept walk-ups at this point," Those wishing to receive the vaccine must meet the following criteria 1. Fall under the Phase 1a and the 1a+ guidelines 2. They must call the Putnam General Hospital Vaccine Hotline 706-923-2052 to schedule their appointment.
