Outstanding Service Award
At the April 9, 2021 Board of Commissioners meeting, the Putnam County Outstanding Service Award was presented to Ron and Gail Newcomb for their service to Putnam County for their volunteer efforts in eliminating litter in the Twin Bridges area of Putnam County.
Ron and Gail have lived in the county for over six years. They are active members of the community homeowners association and the Twin Bridges Firefighters Association.
The Newcombs frequently ask the commissioners about the litter in this county. However, in addition to talking about litter, they do something about it. Ron is an avid fitness walker, walking over two miles each day. For the past six plus years, Ron, with Gail's help, has picked up trash along his two mile walk, explaining he couldn't walk the street if he had to constantly look at the litter along the way.
Thank you Ron and Gail for your help in keeping much of the residential area around Twin Bridges free from litter and trash.
